DESCRIPTION:Meet at Defiance @ 8:45 am\, KSU @ 9 am. \nFor everyone hanging back from Sturgis\, join us on a fun-filled dayride to Gavins Point Dam.  Check back for more details as well as route\, stops\, and KSU! \nGavins Point Dam is a 1.9-mile-long embankment rolled-earth and chalk-fill dam which spans the Missouri River and impounds Lewis and Clark Lake. The dam joins Cedar County\, Nebraska with Yankton County\, South Dakota a distance of 811.1 river miles upstream of St. Louis\, Missouri\, where the Missouri River joins the Mississippi River. It is the most downstream dam on the Missouri River. \nThe dam and hydroelectric power plant were constructed as the Gavins Point Project from 1952 to 1957 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Pick-Sloan Plan. The dam is located approximately 4 miles west of Yankton\, South Dakota. \nRC:  Wes B.

Thank you! \nKSU @ 8 AM \nPlease join us Labor Day weekend on a two-night overnighter with the Winnipeg HOG Chapter\, all the way from Manitoba\, Canada!! \nWe will meet at Defiance at 7 am on Saturday\, August 30th\, ride through the beautiful Northeast Iowa\, cross the muddy Mississippi River into Wisconsin\, and reach our final destination at the Waterfront Hotel in Prairie du Chien.  We will stay two nights.  Check-out is Monday\, September 1st.  We’ll plan to be home by dinner on Labor Day! \nThe Mississippi River Valley (aka The Driftless Area) is an outdoor oasis that boasts stunning limestone bluffs\, flowing rivers and winding scenic byways. We will travel many of the scenic byways along both the Iowa and Wisconsin side of this Mississippi River. We will take in many scenic views at the various lookout areas as well as visiting several small historic small towns. \nThere are 8 rooms available at the Waterfront Hotel:  3 king rooms\, and 5 rooms with two queen beds.  Please see below for room rates.
